Mrs. Darr's 5th Grade

     I am super excited to be your child's 5th grade ELA and Social Studies teacher this school year!  I have always been passionate about teaching since I was a young child myself.  This is going to be a fantastic year in Room 108!  I USED to coach the CMS Dance Team for 6.5 years.  This will be my 12th year in 5th grade at DIS!  I work with Ms. Lawson and Ms. McDuffy in a resource classroom.  I am looking forward to a great school year with your child!

     I graduated from SIUE in 2009 with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education.  Since then I have taken on many roles including a substitute, Title I Reading Teacher, 8th Grade Social Studies, and a reading aide.  I graduated in May 2014 with my Master's Degree in Literacy Education to be a Reading Specialist in the future. I also graduated in May 2020 with my Specialist Degree in Educational Administration.  

 

     I live in Bethalto, IL with my husband, Justin, 7-year-old son Finn, 5-year-old son Tripp, 3-year-old daughter Hazel, and dog Chelsea!  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, nephews and nieces, reading, watching TV and movies (including Twilight), and dancing!
